self improvement

when the hubsters and i moved back to nova after living in hawaii we had almost nothing. what we did have had been in storage. we had no little to no furniture and what we did have was a hand me down from friends and family. we always appreciate hand me downs, but at some point you have to find your own identity. one of the first purchases we made after the move, was the first large scale purchase we made as a couple. this is almost 5 years into our marriage. we are slightly pathetic. that item was this table:

it was a really cool silver laminate table with these cool vintage black vinyl chairs. we were without children at the time and thought we were pretty cool. something we have long since gotten over. flash forward ten years when the picture is taken and you will notice that the chairs are torn and covered in duct tape and even jp is sitting in a chair that does not match. that is due to some serious breakage. we lost 3 of the 6 chairs to metal breakage, one to a tear and the aluminum legs were seriously rusting.

needless to say......it was time

the table was taken apart the taken to the dumpster to be replaced with.....

a craigslist steal!! don't mind the halloween decorations just focus on the massive improvement! 8 micro suede chairs around a gorgeous dark walnut table. we got the benefits of a messy divorce. the woman made us sneak this out of her house before her ex-husband showed up with the kids. a steal, i tell you!! just one more step in improving ourselves out of a rut.

whaddya think?

Beautiful! Maybe someday we'll replace our white couches that were cool before we had kids.
