james' class had their new years celebration friday. i volunteered to help and i am so glad i did. i got to help make mo chi balls and organize the food. apparently i was volunteered for food because when discussing the sound 'shi' james said that sushi was my favorite food. at the party the kids got to practice the haragani calligraphy, play some traditional japanese block games, try on kimono's or hapi's and play a game to match the character to the word / sound. it was great to see the kids so involved in the japanese activities!
