happy birthday dad

"...fatherhood is not a matter of station or wealth; it is a matter of desire, diligence, and determination to see one’s family exalted in the celestial kingdom. If that prize is lost, nothing else really matters" - ezra taft benson

happy birthday to a wonderful dad and grandfather. you are amazing, and inspire me continually.

we love you!

day with daddy

we were lucky enough to have hubsters home all day wednesday. it was a fun middle of the week treat for everyone. he is always so good about doing something fun and interactive with the kids, and yesterday was no exception.
one trip to michaels, 15 dollars and an hour equals pure joy!

grandparents

i will brag nice and loud and say that i love having parents/grandparents close by. everyone should have parents live close by. i realize that we are spoiled and i love it. i love that my kids have such a great relationship with their grandparents. i love that every food that they get at grandma's house is called grandma-(food name) grandma cheese, grandma juice, grandma snack.....you get the picture. the kids love going to grandma's house (and yes, it is grandma's house, sorry dad, dont take it personally). we get to eat at their house, we can ask for occasional babysitting, and the boys have even spent the night at their house all alone. it's so much fun, so i will say it again. we love having the parents/grandparents close by.

now....if only some cousins lived closer...

oh and.....

another reason i love this man: he just completed his entire honey-do list while i was at the gym.

seriously love him!

to you

happy birthday to you.

you are the greatest husband, father, friend and confidant that anyone could ask for. you are my rock, my comic relief and the ear i turn to. your strength and maturity amaze me and constantly surprise me. i am so glad that i know the real you. the person behind the quiet voice and quiet demeanor.

swak!

father's day

things i love about my dad:
the gap in his teeth
the smell of his cologne
his willingness to take long family vacay's (see post below)
his willingness to share
his love of family

things i love about my husband
the gap in his teeth
his love of family
his amazing spiritual knowledge, and the practical application therof
his devotion to me and family
his ability to overcome overwhelming obstacles
his strength

the joke in our family was always that i would marry someone just like my dad, since we never really got along. well....the joke's on me and i am loving every minute of it. this father's day my dad and i sang in church together for the first time. how fun! my gift to todd was a dvd i made of the kids. you can watch, but it's long! happy father's day!
